Kia Motors Reveals All-New Rio Ahead Of Paris Motor Show Premiere
Kia Motors is releasing pictures of the fourth-generation Rio or also known as Pride in different countries. Lets take a look!
The All-new Rio was design for the European and American market in mind, it was design at Frankfurt, Germany and Irvine, California, Kia’s design center with the close collaboration at Namyang, Korea design center. Kia gave the new Rio some defined straight lines and smooth surfacing in which the company says it gives a distinctive and confident new look.
The Rio now sports the new generation of the “Tiger Nose” grill, thinner in height and wider across the front car. Looking at the headlights, the projector has LED lights surrounding it in a U-shape giving a new signature look to the Rio. Continuing with the front bumper, at the bottom of the headlight we find the fog lights but now moved outwards adding greater visual width for a more stable look.
All this new dimensions helps with the effect of the longer bonnet and longer overhang. At the back it has a thinner and more upright C-pillar with a shorter rear overhang. its sporting a new tailight with a arrow-shaped LED light giving another signature design.
Now lets talk about the interior, in which personally is one of my favorite parts of the Rio. This is now a more modern cabin design with some straight line at the dashboard characterizing the shape of the interior with a wider appareance. The Dashboard its angled towards the driver featuring a gloss black and metallic trim finish for a modern finish, and right in the middle of it we find the new infotainment system, a “floating” HMI (human-machine-interface), with a high-resolution touchscreen (similar design as the cousin i30 and Azera) to power the Rio’s audio, navigation and new connectivity systems. this has allow Kia to reduce the number of buttons on the center console.
The new Rio is the Korean manufacturer’s global best-selling model, with more than 473,000 unit sold around the world in 2015. The next generation will enter production towards the end of 2016 for Europe, with production timings for other regions to be announced closer to launch.
We still dont get confirmation for engines or the sedan model, so we expect to hear more about it at the press conference on 29 september at 14:45 CET. Stay tuned for more details!
